Hi,  I'm Manu!

Manuela Medugno is a Brazilian illustrator based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. As a teenager, she was drawn to the works of Oscar Wilde, Mary Shelley, Edgar Allan Poe, and Neil Gaiman, and their suspenseful and supernatural themes, including ghosts, mysteries, and hidden secrets. This fascination continued to influence her illustration practice and led to a growing interest in book illustration. After illustrating the Grimm Brothers’ “Rumpelstiltskin,” she became increasingly interested in combining literature and visual storytelling.

She uses digital drawing techniques to create moody, textured illustrations. Her favorite artist is Edward Gorey, and she likes tea, cats, old things,
and red wine.
